As a member of the Ohio State Bar Association Committee on Ethics and Professional Conduct for twenty five years, few lawyers have the credibility to speak on this subject as does Bret. He recognized the flaws in the system early in his career and has been directly responsible for significant changes in the system. Bret sued the Supreme Court of Ohio forcing the Court to permit testimonial advertising in the State of Ohio. Before this challenge to an archaic rule, clients could not be quoted in support of their legal counsel.
He currently is involved in significant legislative efforts to appoint judges in a non-partisan manner to drastically improve the quality of the current bench. This same effort is being made to require mediation prior to the initiation of any legal action in the State of Ohio.
